Seductive Shadows

Seductive Shadows - Marni Mann This book has a lot of sex. Seriously, a lot! But honestly? After a while, I did not even notice the sex anymore. Strange right? At first it was like omg, sex! And then it started getting a little personal between Charlie and me. I just wanted to hug this poor damaged child and rock her until she felt she was safe and loved. So yeah, if you are looking for the sex scenes, they are there, believe me they are. But as you get to know Charlie a little more, you will see them as less erotic and more… I can’t even describe it, but you will understand and your mind will be opened to the reasoning, to the why of things happening and choices made. This was a great book, very well written, the sex scenes are superb! But it’s also very raw and emotional. It touches something else, a topic that is very hushed if you ask me. But I think there should be a little more force behind it, if you want readers to take notice and do something. But of course, it might not be the platform the author was going for. All in all, I would recommend this read, unless you are turned off by explicit sex scenes.

The Disappearing Girl

The Disappearing Girl - Heather Topham Wood This was a beautifully written book. It really touches the problem of anorexia and bulimia and just having the wrong body images. When I read this book, I could really feel the pain Kayla was in. It’s ashame she had to go through this all to find herself. It makes you think about the way you treat people and the things you accept from people you love. The only thing I think that could be improved on is the way things turned around (yes, keeping this vague so I am not giving away any spoilers), but I think you would agree when you read the book. All in all it was very very good. And I liked the different characters. They all had their own quirks and their own way of handeling things. And it was also very PG-13 I would think so I think you could hand it to your teenager to read about. I loved it.

Future Letters

Future Letters - H.R. Willaston This was a new way of reading a book for me. It was all written in the form of letters or chats or personal messages and texts to each other. I think I only read 2 or 3 books written like this, but they are were just one person writing in her diary or letters to one person from one person. But somehow the writer made this all work. The book cover is also very fitting, considering the fact that the “idea” for the Future Letters, comes from someone young and in school.
So you have these three besties, but also a guy, well more guys, and they are just good friends, even though two of the guys are much older, because they are brother and best friend of brother, but also cousin of the other guy, who is more the age of the girls. Their lives are so intertwined, that they keep in touch and help each other.
When I got used to the way the story was being told, I thought ok, this is more a book I would let my daughter read. And I still would, but it does not only talk about teenagers and their dreams and crushes, it also touches some more serious stuff, like drinking and driving, and being responsible while drinking. It’s a good clean book with solid advice and I love it for all of this. True love, life after something devastating happens, nurturing talents and of course nurturing relationships.

Nameless

Nameless - Joe Conlan It’s an awesome read, I can tell you that much! And it’s almost like you are reading a movie! Yes I said it! I was sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time, rooting for Daniel! And man, Joe really got to me, he did something I did not think he would. I don’t even know how to review this book without giving away anything. It starts out really good and gets better. I kind of got to understanding the killer, but I still don’t like him. But one cannot help but admire certain traits of him. To me Daniel seems to be the All American Hero, but then he stumbles and you get reminded that he’s just a human man.
I could not help not liking the wife. Am I saying that right? The thing is, I liked her just fine and then she got stupid. And yes yes, I know she’s the victim here, just read the book and we can chat about that. And the murderer. What an ingenious son of a beep!!! This was a really good written and thought out story. I loved it and I think you should give it a try too!

When Angels Fall

When Angels Fall - Stephanie Jackson I really liked this story. I could not start it when I intended to, but when I finally started, I could not put it down. I love angel stories, but the whole story was very well written.
I liked that it was a story about an angel and the last bloodline of God. The girl was a little sassy and snarky, but I think it was very well explained why she was that way. The love story was a little fast, but I think that their situation and being around each other constantly will do that.
There where a few little things that, to me, did not add up, but they were not gaping plotholes, so I let it slide for the sake of the story. That's why I gave it 3 stars and not 4. But it was over all a very good story, well written, with lots of action, backstory and there are more then a few moments where I had to laugh out loud. I also liked the fact that God was not the God even angels perceived. In a good way of course. If you like angels and love stories, then this is a book for you.

Shattered Into Beautiful

Shattered Into Beautiful - Mel Ballew coming soon

Murder on Olympus

Murder on Olympus - Robert B. Warren I am still weighing my options here. Do I like it or do I really like it?
On the one hand, I just looooove Greek mythology. And this book did a great job of bringing the gods into this century. I also liked the story and the way it was written. So maybe I will come back and change it into 4 stars.

What you need to know for now, is that it is very well written and that it has a great story. I did have the feeling, but just a little, that sometimes there was a jump in the story, but it could be me. It did not take away from the book though. I loved that it wasn't a slutty book. If you know me, you know I don't mind a little (or a lot) smut. But I feel that if there was more sex in the story, it would have taken away from the story as a whole.

I would recommend and I am looking forward to reading more of Plato Jones. Because those last few pages made me very curious

25 Perfect Days

25 Perfect Days - Mark Tullius, Anthony Szpak Ah-mah-zing! Loved the book. Review will be up on friday :)

Friday is here!!! My full review is on: http://debdebreviews.wordpress.com/2013/06/07/review-25-perfect-days-by-mark-tullius/

But I just wanted to say that this book can really blow you away. It will sure as hell make you think a little harder. This book gets my full recommendation and then some!

Exploding, Like Fireworks

Exploding, Like Fireworks - Pat Murphy This is a very nice short read. Very scifi and thought out well. I liked the story, the development and then...you are left to imagine. There is character development, even though the story is short. And I wonder if all these things are possible. Maybe one dahy... I would recommend :)

The Mine

The Mine - John A. Heldt I liked this book. I like the way the author described the feel and the energy of the forties. It is exactly like when I watch old time movies. I don't know if you like those, but if you do, you should try this book! John A. Heldt did an awesome job, researching the times and the way things happened. The concept was nice too. I think Joel needed to travel back in time to get some perspective in life. Sometimes when you've got everything going for you, you don't want or need to change, to better yourself. And that is what this book is about to me. I would recommend this book. It's maybe not for everyone, but give it a try, you might be surprised

Dark Liaison

Dark Liaison - J.D. Brown This was the next of the series, the first one was [b:Dark Heirloom|15750553|Dark Heirloom (An Ema Marx Novel, #1)|J.D. Brown|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1342225723s/15750553.jpg|19146712]. It was more of Ema coming into her own, getting to know herself, but also admitting to loving Jesu. Dear sweet Jesu!!!

I can't tell too much about giving away something, but I must say Ema still infuriates me sometimes. And I am a little mad (not really) at the author for the last page, of which of course I can't say anything. But read it to find out!

Dear author, please don't let it be what I think it is. He does not deserve that!!!!!!

Dark Heirloom

Dark Heirloom - J.D. Brown What if you were a vampire, but you did not know it yet? What if you were scared and stressed out so much that your "vampirism" kicked in? Well, that's what happened to Ema Marx.
And then you find out that history as you know it, well... is not how you know it.

I liked the story well enough, but at times I felt like "get to the answers already!" Mind you, I am not saying that the story was slow, but the MC was kinda slow imo. But on the other hand, getting your life, even your whole face changed so much is something you have to get used to, so yeah, maybe I am just to curious for my own good.

I liked the story. It was kind of different from the normal vampire stories

His Wicked Games

His Wicked Games - Ember Casey I won this book as an ARC and I will post my review when the book is published

The Modeliser

The Modeliser - Havana Adams I really enjoyed this book. It read like a movie to me and I really loved that it was from a few different angles. But instead of being "messy", it added to the story. I also liked the "background" of the story. Movies, movie writers, a little bit of the magazine world.

I really enjoyed this story and I hope you do to!

Remembering Love

Remembering Love - Nadine Christian You authors are gonna be the death of me someday. Yes, I foresee in my future paramedics finding me dead in my bed, clutching my kindle for dear life. Cause of death? Well sleep exhaustion of course!!! And it's all *YOUR* fault! Yes, all of you typing away on your typewriters and computers and laptops. Hey do some of you still use pen and paper? Well still your fault!

AND I LOVE IT, so never stop writing.

The latest culprit is the writer of this book. When I started the book I was kind of busy, so I picked at a few pages here and picked at a few pages there and it seemed nice, but kind of slow. But then I got into bed, exhausted, because I had a late shift last night, thinking I would read a little and then fall asleep. And here I am, two hours later, still haven't slept a wink and about to gush how much I *LOVED* the book!

It has love, deceit and intrigue. It touches foster care lightly - all you foster parents out there: HEROES! - and then... Yeah, I can't give the story away now can I?

But I can assure you, it is totally amazeballs, so read it!!!!

Unbreak Me

Unbreak Me - Lexi Ryan This was a very very very very very good book. Did I mention it was very good? First you think the main character is just a bit of a drama queen, but you will get blown of your feet. I even shed a few tears for her.
And Asher mmm... once you get past that sexy, go back, try to get past again, glance at his sexy ass over your shoulder again, wipe the drool of your face, you will find he's also deeper than you think.

Trying not to give too much away, but this was a very good book. I would recommend. But keep your mitts of Asher, he's mine :P
